Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Press the primer bulb three times, then pull the starter handle firmly. Make sure the throttle lever is set to the 'Start' position.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal performance.
Sharpen the mower blades after approximately every 25 hours of use to maintain cutting efficiency and prevent damage to the grass.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Examine the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Check the air filter for debris and clean or replace it as needed.
Adjust the cutting height by repositioning the wheels. Use the height adjustment levers located at each wheel. Ensure all wheels are adjusted to the same height.
Perform regular maintenance including checking and changing the oil every 25 hours of operation, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 25 hours, and inspecting the spark plug annually.
Allow the mower to cool down then use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings from the underside. Avoid spraying directly onto the engine. Dry thoroughly before storing.
Ensure the tire pressure is consistent across all wheels. Adjust the cutting height to a higher setting to avoid scalping the lawn.
Check for damage or imbalance in the blade. Tighten any loose bolts or nuts, especially around the blade and engine mountings.
Run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel. Change the oil and clean the air filter. Remove the spark plug and add a tablespoon of oil into the cylinder; pull the starter handle slowly to distribute the oil. Store in a dry place.
