To start the Toro 21-inch HP 16930 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'Choke', and the safety bar is engaged. Pull the starter cord firmly until the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F. For colder climates, 10W-30 may be used. Always check the owner’s manual for specific recommendations.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Also, make sure the safety bar is fully engaged.
Sharpen the mower blade after every 20-25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season for best results.
Disconnect the spark plug, tip the mower on its side, and use a hose to rinse off grass and debris. Scrape off any stubborn buildup with a plastic scraper.
Adjust the cutting height by using the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the lever to the preferred notch to set the desired height.
Before storing the mower, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the deck, and remove the spark plug. Store in a dry place.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one by tightening it snugly. Reattach the spark plug wire.
Excessive vibration could be due to an unbalanced blade or loose parts. Check the blade for damage and ensure all nuts and bolts are securely tightened.
Locate the air filter cover, remove it, and take out the old air filter. Insert a new filter and secure the cover back in place. Ensure it is seated properly to avoid engine damage.
