To start the Toro 21-inch HP 16402 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to choke, and then pull the starter rope.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for obstructions.
Change the oil every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Toro recommends using SAE 30W detergent oil for optimal performance in the 21-inch HP 16402 Mower.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel to set your desired grass height.
After turning off the mower and disconnecting the spark plug, use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris from the mower deck.
To replace the spark plug, remove the spark plug cap, unscrew the old spark plug with a socket wrench, and install a new compatible spark plug.
If the mower vibrates excessively, inspect the blade for damage or imbalance, and ensure it is securely attached.
Ensure that the mower's wheels are properly inflated and consider adjusting the cutting height for better performance on uneven terrain.
To store the mower, run the engine until it stops to empty the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered location.
