Toro 21-inch HP 16202C Operator's Manual

To start the Toro 21-inch HP 16202C Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle lever is set to 'choke' for a cold start, and then pull the starter handle briskly.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify that the fuel valve is open.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once a mowing season.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C). Use SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below freezing.
To sharpen the blades, remove them from the mower, secure them in a vise, and use a metal file or a sharpening tool to sharpen the cutting edge. Be sure to balance the blade before reinstalling.
At the end of the season, empty the fuel tank, clean the mower, change the oil, check and clean the spark plug, and store the mower in a dry place.
Adjust the cutting height by using the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to set the cutting height.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Check the blade for damage and ensure it is properly balanced. Tighten any loose bolts.
To improve grass collection, make sure the grass bag is not full, the blade is sharp, and the underside of the mower deck is clean. Mow when grass is dry and adjust the cutting height if necessary.
Using a fuel stabilizer is recommended if you plan to store the mower for more than 30 days. It helps prevent fuel degradation and keeps the carburetor clean.
