To start the Toro 21-inch 58602 Tiller, ensure the fuel tank is filled, set the choke lever to 'Choke', pull the starter rope briskly, and once the engine starts, move the choke lever to 'Run'.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the tines for wear, and tightening any loose bolts or nuts.
If the tiller won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify that the choke is set correctly.
Adjust the tilling depth by changing the height of the drag stake located at the rear of the tiller. Raise or lower the drag stake to achieve the desired tilling depth.
To store the tiller, drain the fuel tank, clean the exterior, apply a light coat of oil to the metal parts to prevent rust, and keep it in a dry, sheltered location.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each season.
Check for obstructions around the tines, ensure the tine shaft is not damaged, and verify that the tine engagement lever is functioning properly.
To transport the tiller, secure it in an upright position using straps, and ensure the fuel cap is tightly sealed to prevent leaks.
After use, wash off any soil and debris with a hose, avoid using high-pressure water to prevent damage, and dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
