To start the Toro 21-inch 26643B Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'Choke' for a cold engine, and pull the starter rope briskly. Once started, move the throttle to the 'Run' position.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, confirm that the safety lever is engaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, tip the mower with the carburetor facing up, remove the blade, and use a file or sharpening tool to sharpen the blade evenly. Reinstall and tighten the blade securely.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, tip the mower for access, and use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. Use a scraper for stubborn dirt. Ensure the deck is dry before storage.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade, ensure that the blade is properly mounted, and inspect for loose parts. Tighten any loose bolts and replace damaged components as necessary.
Regularly sharpen the blade, mow with a clean deck, adjust the cutting height according to grass length, and ensure the engine is running smoothly with fresh oil and a clean air filter.
Empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower deck, disconnect the spark plug wire, and store in a dry, sheltered area.
Locate the air filter cover, remove the cover screws, take out the old filter, insert a new filter, and secure the cover back in place. Ensure proper seating of the filter to prevent dust entry.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the drive cable is properly connected and adjusted, and inspect the wheels for obstructions. Replace or adjust components as needed.
