To start the Toro 21-inch 26626 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the throttle to 'Choke', pull the starter handle gently until you feel resistance, then pull sharply.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and verify the air filter is clean. If the problem persists, inspect the carburetor and fuel line for blockages.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Remove the spark plug wire for safety, then remove the blade. Use a file or a sharpening stone to sharpen the cutting edges evenly. Reinstall the blade securely.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose engine mounting bolts, or damaged components. Inspect and balance the blade and tighten any loose bolts.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and gently clean it with soap and water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if it is too dirty or damaged.
Empty the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Consider removing the battery if applicable and store it separately.
Locate the height adjustment lever near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired setting, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged and sharpen or replace it as necessary. Ensure the deck is clean and the mower is set to the correct cutting height.
