Ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle lever is in the 'Start' position, and the safety key is inserted. Pull the starter rope firmly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the safety key is inserted and the fuel valve is open.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Ensure the mower is off and cool. Tilt the mower to access the deck, then use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid spraying water directly into the engine.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance, check that all nuts and bolts are tight, and ensure the engine mounts are secure.
Use the height adjustment lever located near each wheel to set the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are adjusted to the same height.
Check the air filter every 25 hours of use. Clean it with soap and water if it's dirty, and replace it if it's damaged or excessively worn.
Sharpen the mower blade regularly, mow when the grass is dry, and adjust the mowing speed according to the grass height and condition.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Remove the battery if applicable.
