For optimal performance, change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Ensure the mower is turned off and cool. Use a garden hose to spray the underside of the deck, removing grass clippings and debris. Always avoid using high-pressure water.
Check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and inspect the air filter for dirt or blockage.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Ethanol content should not exceed 10%.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. Adjust the cutting height to match the grass conditions and mow when the grass is dry.
Check for debris stuck in the blade area, ensure the blade is balanced and securely fastened, and inspect for bent or damaged components.
Run the mower until it is out of fuel, clean the deck and undercarriage, change the oil, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Consider removing the battery if applicable.
Use the height adjustment lever located on each wheel. Set all wheels to the same height to ensure an even cut.
Inspect the air filter before each use. Clean it every 25 hours of operation or replace it if it is damaged or heavily soiled.
Disconnect the spark plug, tilt the mower, and use a wrench to remove the blade retaining bolt. Replace with a new blade, ensuring it is installed correctly and securely fastened.
