To start your Toro mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, press the primer bulb three times, hold the blade control bar against the handle, and pull the starter rope.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Additionally, verify the fuel valve is open and the engine oil level is adequate.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then once every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
After mowing, use a hose to spray underneath the deck. For stubborn debris, gently scrape with a plastic scraper. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
Check the air filter every 25 hours of use. Clean it with soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance. Ensure it is securely fastened. Also, check for any debris caught in the mower deck or engine.
Remove the blade following the manufacturer's instructions, then use a file or sharpening stone to sharpen the blade edges evenly. Reinstall the blade securely.
Check the user manual for the exact tire pressure, but generally, Toro mowers require a tire pressure of 15 psi. Ensure both tires are equally inflated for an even cut.
