To start the Toro 21-inch 22190 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, pull the choke lever to the on position, and pull the starter rope. Once the engine starts, adjust the choke lever.
For optimal performance, use SAE 30 oil above 32°F (0°C). Below this temperature, use SAE 10W-30. Always check the oil level before each use.
To sharpen the blade, disconnect the spark plug, remove the blade, and use a grinder or file to sharpen. Ensure the blade is balanced before reattaching.
Check if there's fresh fuel in the tank, the spark plug is clean, and the air filter is not clogged. Ensure the safety features are engaged properly.
Perform maintenance every 25 hours or annually. This includes changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, checking the spark plug, and inspecting the blade.
After each use, allow the mower to cool, then use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck and wheels. Avoid using high-pressure water.
Excessive vibration could indicate a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade and replace or balance it if necessary.
Ensure the blade is sharp, the deck is clean, and you're mowing at the correct height for your grass type. Regular maintenance can also improve performance.
Check the drive cable tension and adjust if necessary. Inspect the belt for wear and replace it if it's damaged.
Before storing, clean the mower, empty the fuel tank, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store in a dry, covered location.
