Toro 21-inch 20684C Operator's Manual

To start the mower, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the throttle lever is set to the choke position, and the blade control lever is held against the handle. Then, pull the starter handle to start the engine.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify that the spark plug is connected properly and the air filter is clean. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support.
Regularly inspect the blade for damage and wear. Sharpen the blade every 25 hours of use or as needed. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing maintenance on the blade.
Use SAE 30 oil above 32°F (0°C) or SAE 10W-30 for varying temperature ranges. Check the oil level before each use and change it after the first five hours of operation, then every 25 hours or annually.
To adjust the cutting height, move the wheels to the desired height setting using the adjustment levers located near each wheel. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Perform regular maintenance including checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the blade, and checking the spark plug. Also, clean the deck after each use to prevent grass build-up.
Ensure the cutting height is set appropriately for the terrain. Sharpen the blade regularly and maintain proper tire pressure. Consider mowing in a different pattern to minimize scalping or uneven cuts.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure that it is properly balanced. Tighten any loose hardware on the mower.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove all fuel from the tank, and change the oil. Store the mower in a dry, covered area to protect it from the elements. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Ensure the blade is sharp and not damaged. Check the engine speed to ensure it's running at full throttle. Examine the grass bag for clogs and clean the underside of the mower deck.
