To start the Toro 21-inch 20631 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' for a cold start, and the blade control bar is engaged. Pull the starter handle firmly.
Use SAE 30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher. For temperatures below 40°F, use SAE 10W-30.
Sharpen the mower blade twice a season or after every 25 hours of use to ensure optimal cutting performance.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, verify the air filter is clean, and check for any fuel line blockages.
To adjust the cutting height, move the height adjustment lever located on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
It's not recommended to use the mower on wet grass as it can cause clumping, uneven cutting, and may damage the mower.
After each use, disconnect the spark plug, turn the mower on its side, and use a hose to remove grass clippings from the deck. Avoid using high pressure.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
To winterize, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the deck, and store in a dry location. Disconnect the spark plug.
Remove the spark plug wire, use a socket wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap setting. Reattach the wire.
