To start the Toro 21-inch 20611 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to choke, and the blade control lever is engaged. Then, pull the starter handle quickly.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal performance.
The mower blade should be sharpened at least once a year or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or tearing of the grass.
To clean the mower deck, ensure the engine is off and cool, tip the mower on its side, and use a hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid using a pressure washer.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. If issues persist, consider replacing the spark plug.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment lever located on the wheels. Ensure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Before storage, drain the fuel, clean the mower deck, change the oil, and check for any damaged parts. Store the mower in a dry location to prevent rust.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover by loosening the screws, take out the old filter, and insert a new one. Ensure the new filter is properly seated before replacing the cover.
Excessive vibration may be due to an unbalanced blade or debris caught in the mower. Check the blade for damage and ensure it's properly secured. Clean any debris from the deck.
It is recommended to use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and no more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
