To start the Toro 21-inch 16212B Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged, and the throttle is set to the start position. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F. For colder temperatures, use SAE 5W-30. Check the owner’s manual for detailed recommendations.
Blades should be sharpened at least once a season or after every 25 hours of mowing. Dull blades can tear grass, leading to lawn damage.
Check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and air filter. Ensure all safety features are properly engaged. If issues persist, consult a professional technician.
To change the air filter, remove the cover by unscrewing the fastener, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Secure the cover back in place.
Before storing, clean the mower, change the oil, and empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry place and disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are adjusted equally for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and ensuring all parts are lubricated.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose parts, or debris lodged in the cutting deck. Inspect and address these issues to resolve the vibration.
Ensure the blades are sharp, the mower deck is clean, and the correct mowing speed is used. Regular maintenance and proper lawn care practices also enhance cutting performance.
