Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check that the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Pull the starter handle slowly until you feel resistance, then pull sharply to start the engine.
After turning off the mower and disconnecting the spark plug, use a garden hose to rinse the cutting deck. Avoid using high-pressure water. Dry the mower with a clean cloth and store it in a dry place.
Check the fuel tank for fuel. Ensure the spark plug is connected and clean. Inspect the air filter for blockages. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact Toro support.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and SAE 10W-30 oil for temperatures below 40°F (4°C). Always check the user manual for specific oil recommendations.
Sharpen the blade after every 25 hours of use or if you notice the grass is being torn instead of cut cleanly. Always disconnect the spark plug before removing the blade for sharpening.
Check for debris lodged in the cutting deck. Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance. Tighten any loose bolts and ensure the blade is securely fastened.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Insert a new, correctly gapped spark plug and tighten it securely. Reattach the spark plug wire.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gasoline. Store the mower in a dry, cool location and cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
Locate the height adjustment lever near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to adjust the cutting height. Make sure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Conduct regular oil changes, keep the air filter clean, sharpen the blade periodically, and inspect for any loose or damaged parts. Follow the maintenance schedule outlined in the user manual.
