The Toro 17-inch 51954 Trimmer is compatible with 0.080-inch or 0.095-inch trimmer line. It's recommended to use Toro’s replacement line for optimal performance.
To replace the trimmer line, remove the spool cap, take out the old line, and insert the new line following the directional arrows on the spool. Reattach the cap securely.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, check for obstructions that might cause excessive wear. Ensure you are using the correct line size and avoid using the trimmer near hard surfaces.
To improve battery life, store the battery in a cool, dry place and charge it fully before use. Avoid letting the battery completely drain before recharging.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the trimmer after each use, inspecting the trimmer line and spool, and checking for any loose screws or parts.
If the trimmer is not starting, check if the battery is installed correctly and fully charged. Also, ensure the safety lock button is pressed before squeezing the trigger.
It is not recommended to use the Toro 51954 Trimmer in wet conditions as moisture can damage the electric components and pose safety hazards.
To adjust the cutting head angle, press the pivot button located near the trimmer head and tilt the head to the desired angle. Release the button to lock it in place.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced cutting line. Replace the line and ensure it is properly wound and installed. Also, check for any loose parts.
