To start the Toro 112-cm 30147 mower, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke', and the PTO switch is off. Then, turn the ignition key to the 'start' position until the engine fires.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for colder conditions. Ensure that the oil is from a reputable brand and meets API service classification SJ or higher.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify that the battery is charged, the spark plug is clean, and all safety switches are engaged. If these are all correct, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment levers on each side of the mower deck. Move the levers to the desired height setting, ensuring both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and hoses for wear.
After use, remove grass clippings by spraying the underside of the deck with a garden hose. Avoid using high-pressure washers as they may damage components. For stubborn debris, use a plastic scraper.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades, loose components, or debris lodged in the deck. Check and tighten all hardware, ensure blades are balanced, and clear any debris from the mower deck.
It's recommended to replace the spark plug every 100 hours of operation or once per mowing season to ensure optimal engine performance.
Ethanol-blended fuels up to E10 (10% ethanol) are acceptable. Do not use E15 or higher ethanol blends as they can damage the engine and fuel system components.
For winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove the battery. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Store the mower in a dry, covered location.
