Toro 1100 51318 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro 1100 51318 Trimmer, ensure the unit is on a flat surface, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, set the choke lever to the choke position, and pull the starter rope briskly. Once the engine starts, move the choke to the run position.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Mix it with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 50:1 (gasoline to oil).
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool by pressing the release tabs. Cut a length of new line, insert it into the hole on the spool, and wind it tightly in the direction of the arrows. Reattach the spool and secure it in place.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and verify that the air filter is clean. Make sure the choke is in the correct position for starting.
Clean the air filter after every 10 hours of use, or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.
Regularly check and replace the trimmer line as needed. Keep the cutting head clean and free of debris. Sharpen or replace the blade if applicable.
Wear safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection. Maintain a safe distance from others while operating the trimmer. Avoid using the trimmer in wet conditions to prevent slip and fall accidents.
Uneven cutting can be caused by a worn trimmer line or incorrect line length. Ensure the line is properly installed and replace it if necessary. Check for any obstructions or debris on the cutting head.
Excessive vibration may be due to an imbalanced cutting head or damaged trimmer line. Check the head for damage and ensure the line is evenly distributed. Tighten any loose parts.
Clean the trimmer thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, and run the engine until it stops to clear any remaining fuel. Store it in a dry, cool place, and ensure it's protected from dust and moisture.
