To turn on the Sunbeam SFH612 heater, plug it into a power outlet, then rotate the power knob to the desired setting. There are usually multiple heat settings to choose from.
If the heater is not producing heat, ensure that it is plugged in correctly and the power knob is set to a heat setting. Check for any tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. Additionally, inspect the heater for any obstructions or dust buildup that could affect performance.
If the heater overheats, it may have an automatic shut-off feature. Turn off the heater and unplug it. Allow it to cool down completely before checking for any blockages or dust accumulation. Ensure the heater is placed in a well-ventilated area.
To clean the heater, first ensure it is unplugged and completely cooled down. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using harsh chemicals or submerging any part of the heater in water. Use a vacuum or compressed air to remove dust from the vents.
It is not recommended to use an extension cord with the heater due to potential overheating and fire hazards. If necessary, ensure the extension cord is heavy-duty and rated for the heater’s power requirements.
To reset the heater after a safety shut-off, turn the power knob to the 'Off' position, unplug the heater, and allow it to cool down. After a few minutes, plug it back in and turn it on as normal.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the heater to prevent dust buildup, checking the power cord and plug for damage, and ensuring the heater is operating in a well-ventilated space. Regular inspections will help maintain performance and safety.
While the heater has safety features, it is generally not recommended to leave any space heater on overnight or unattended. If necessary, ensure it is placed on a stable surface, away from flammable materials, and has a working automatic shut-off feature.
Unusual noises might indicate a mechanical issue or obstruction. Turn off and unplug the heater, then inspect it for any visible debris or damage. If the noise persists, discontinue use and contact customer support for assistance.
Before storing, ensure the heater is clean and dry. Wrap the cord securely around the designated area or loosely coil it to avoid damage. Store the heater in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
