The Sunbeam SCH7221 is not designed for use in bathrooms or other damp areas. Using it in such environments can pose a risk of electric shock or damage to the unit.
Ensure that the room size is within the heater's capacity. Check if the filter is clean, as a clogged filter can affect performance. Also, verify that the temperature setting is appropriately adjusted for the desired heat output.
The safety tip-over switch on the Sunbeam SCH7221 is automatically activated when the unit is upright. If the heater tips over, the switch will cut off power to prevent accidents. Simply set the heater upright to resume operation.
Some noise is normal due to the fan and heating elements. However, if you hear unusual sounds like grinding or rattling, turn off the heater and inspect for loose parts or contact customer support.
Regular maintenance checks are recommended every 3 months. This includes cleaning the filter, checking the power cord for damage, and ensuring that the unit is free from dust and obstructions.
It is not recommended to use an extension cord with the Sunbeam SCH7221, as this can lead to overheating and potential fire hazards. Always plug the heater directly into a wall outlet.
