To start the Subaru PKX201 Pump, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the choke lever is in the 'closed' position, and the throttle lever is set to 'fast'. Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull it briskly. Once the engine is running, open the choke gradually.
If the pump won't start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify that the spark plug is clean and functional. Inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the choke and throttle are properly set. If issues persist, consult the manual or a professional technician.
The oil in the Subaru PKX201 Pump should be changed after the first 20 hours of operation and subsequently every 50 hours or once a season. Regular oil changes help maintain engine efficiency and longevity.
It is recommended to use SAE 10W-30 oil for the Subaru PKX201 Pump in most temperature conditions. For extreme temperatures, refer to the user manual for alternative oil recommendations.
To prevent overheating, ensure the pump is operated in a well-ventilated area and that the cooling fins are clean and unobstructed. Regularly check the oil level and maintain it within the recommended range.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and checking the fuel system for leaks. Also, ensure all bolts are tightened and components are in good condition.
To winterize the pump, drain the fuel system completely or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the oil, clean the air filter, and store the pump in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts.
If fuel is leaking, immediately stop using the pump. Check for loose connections, cracks in the fuel line, or a faulty fuel cap. Replace any damaged parts and ensure all connections are secure before resuming use.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it in warm, soapy water and allow it to dry completely. Lightly oil the filter before reinstalling it, ensuring it fits securely back in place.
When not in use, store the pump in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the fuel is drained, the oil is fresh, and the pump is covered to prevent dust accumulation.
