To maintain your Simplicity FB Tractor, regularly check the oil levels, clean the air filter, inspect the belts for wear, and lubricate moving parts. Replace the spark plug annually and ensure tire pressures are correct.
Check the battery connections and charge if necessary. Ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel and the fuel filter isn't clogged. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected.
Ensure that the mower deck is level and that the blades are sharp and balanced. Inspect the tire pressure for consistency and ensure the cutting height is set evenly on both sides.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, remove any grass clippings, and perform an oil change. Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and store the tractor in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil. Shut off the engine and remove the oil drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely, replace the plug, and fill with the manufacturer's recommended oil type and amount.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose components, or uneven tire pressure. Inspect these areas and tighten or replace parts as necessary.
Add wheel weights or use tire chains to improve traction. Ensure the tires have the correct pressure and consider using a lower gear setting to maintain control on slopes.
Inspect the transmission belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Check the transmission fluid level if applicable and top off or replace if necessary.
The air filter should be inspected and cleaned every 25 hours of operation and replaced at least once per season or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
Refer to the owner's manual for the specific recommended tire pressure, as it can vary by model. Generally, maintaining a pressure of 10-14 PSI for rear tires and 12-16 PSI for front tires is common.
