Shark ION Robot RV870 Owner's Guide

To connect your Shark ION Robot RV870 to Wi-Fi, download the SharkClean app, create an account or log in, and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device. Ensure your robot is powered on and in range of your Wi-Fi network.
If your Shark ION Robot RV870 is not charging, ensure that the charging dock is plugged in and the contact points on both the robot and dock are clean. Additionally, confirm that the robot is properly aligned with the charging contacts on the dock.
To clean the dustbin, remove it from the robot by pressing the release button. Empty the contents into a trash bin, then rinse the dustbin with water and let it dry completely before reinserting it into the robot.
A loud noise may indicate debris is caught in the brushroll or wheels. Turn off and flip the robot over to inspect and remove any entangled debris. If the noise persists, check for any obstructions in the vacuum intake.
You can schedule cleaning times using the SharkClean app. Navigate to the scheduling section, choose the days and times you want the robot to clean, and save your schedule.
If the robot gets stuck often, clear any potential obstacles from its path and ensure the floor is free of cords and small objects. Consider using the boundary strips to block off areas where the robot frequently gets stuck.
To replace the brushroll, turn the robot upside down and remove the brushroll cover by pressing the tabs or unscrewing it. Pull out the old brushroll and insert the new one, ensuring it’s properly aligned before securing the cover back in place.
The Shark ION Robot RV870 is best suited for low to medium-pile carpets and hard floors. It may have difficulty maneuvering and cleaning effectively on high-pile carpets.
If the robot is not picking up debris effectively, check the dustbin and filters to ensure they are not full or clogged. Also, inspect the brushroll for tangled hair or debris. Clean or replace parts as necessary.
To update the firmware, open the SharkClean app, connect to your robot, and check for updates in the settings menu. Follow the instructions provided to download and install the latest firmware.
