To fill the water tank, first ensure the iron is unplugged. Open the water tank cover, use the provided filling cup to slowly pour water into the tank, and do not exceed the maximum fill line. Close the cover securely before use.
If the iron is not heating up, check that it is plugged in properly and the temperature setting is appropriate. Ensure the power outlet is functional. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact Shark customer support.
To clean the soleplate, unplug the iron and let it cool completely. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mixture of baking soda and water, apply gently, and wipe clean. Avoid abrasive materials.
Water leakage can occur if the iron is overfilled or used on a low temperature setting. Ensure the tank is not filled above the maximum line and increase the temperature setting to reduce leakage.
Regularly descale the iron to prevent mineral buildup. Empty the water tank after each use and store the iron in an upright position. Clean the soleplate periodically and check the cord for any signs of wear.
To prevent sticking, ensure the temperature setting is appropriate for the fabric type. Use a pressing cloth for delicate materials and regularly clean the soleplate to remove any residue.
Verify that the water tank is filled and the iron is set to a steam-compatible temperature. Ensure the steam control is not set to the 'off' position. If issues persist, perform a self-cleaning cycle to clear any blockages.
Fill the tank halfway with water, set the iron to the highest setting, and let it heat up. Unplug the iron and hold it over a sink. Press and hold the self-clean button until steam and water start to eject, removing buildup. Repeat if necessary.
It is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup. If using tap water, perform regular self-cleaning to minimize scaling.
Ensure the iron is unplugged, emptied of water, and cooled down completely. Wrap the cord loosely around the base and store the iron in an upright position in a dry place.
