To set up your Sencor SWS 8700 Weather Station, start by installing the batteries in the outdoor sensor and main unit. Place the sensor outside in a location not directly exposed to rain or sunlight. Power on the main unit and follow the on-screen instructions to synchronize it with the sensor.
Ensure that the outdoor sensor is within the transmission range of the main unit and that there are no obstructions. Check the batteries in the sensor and replace them if necessary. Resynchronize the sensor with the main unit by following the initial setup instructions.
To reset the weather station, press and hold the reset button located on the back of the main unit for about 5 seconds. This will reset all settings to factory defaults and you will need to set up the device again.
To change the temperature unit, access the settings menu on the main unit. Navigate to the temperature unit option and select Fahrenheit. Confirm the change and exit the settings menu.
Ensure that the main unit is placed away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources, as these can affect temperature readings. If the problem persists, try resetting the device.
To replace the batteries in the outdoor sensor, open the battery compartment by removing the cover. Replace the old batteries with new ones, ensuring the correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
The Sencor SWS 8700 Weather Station does not support direct connectivity to smartphones. However, you can manually record the data displayed on the main unit for personal tracking.
Calibration is not typically necessary for the Sencor SWS 8700 as it is pre-calibrated. However, for the most accurate readings, ensure all sensors are clean and positioned correctly.
Regularly check and replace batteries in both the main unit and the outdoor sensor. Clean the sensor and unit to prevent dust and debris buildup. Inspect for any damage or wear and tear.
Place the outdoor sensor in an open area away from obstructions and direct sunlight. Ensure the main unit and sensor are both level and stable. Regularly clean the sensor to avoid any interference with the readings.
