To adjust the blade tension, first ensure the saw is unplugged. Locate the tension adjustment knob on the top of the saw and turn it clockwise to increase tension or counterclockwise to decrease tension. Check the tension gauge to ensure proper tension is achieved.
Unplug the saw and open the upper and lower wheel covers. Release the blade tension using the knob. Carefully remove the old blade and install the new blade, ensuring the teeth are pointing in the right direction. Adjust the blade tension and tracking before closing the covers.
Ensure the blade is properly tensioned and the guides are correctly adjusted. Check the table for squareness and calibrate the fence. Use a high-quality blade suitable for the material being cut.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the sawdust from the machine, checking and adjusting blade tension and tracking, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting the electrical components for wear or damage.
Blade slippage can be caused by incorrect tension, misaligned wheels, or worn tires. Ensure the blade is properly tensioned, check the wheel alignment, and inspect the tires for wear or damage. Replace tires if necessary.
Loosen the guide screws and adjust the guides so they are just behind the teeth of the blade. Ensure the blade is perpendicular to the table and the guides are evenly spaced on either side of the blade. Tighten the screws once aligned.
Stop the saw immediately and unplug it. Allow the motor to cool down before inspecting for any obstructions, ensuring ventilation is adequate, and checking for overloading. Resume use only after resolving these issues.
Ensure the saw is placed on a stable, level surface and that all fasteners are securely tightened. Check the blade for proper tension and balance, and inspect the wheels for alignment and wear.
The tracking adjustment knob allows you to align the blade on the wheels, ensuring it runs straight and true. Proper tracking prevents the blade from wandering during cuts and extends blade life.
Unplug the saw and use a brush or vacuum to remove sawdust and debris. Clean the table and guides with a damp cloth. Lubricate moving parts such as the blade guides and tensioning mechanism with a light machine oil.
