Scheppach HBS20 5801501903 Instruction Manual

To set the blade tension, first ensure the saw is powered off. Rotate the blade tension knob located on the top of the saw to the right to increase tension or to the left to decrease it. The blade should be taut but not overly tight. Use the tension gauge, if available, to ensure correct tension.
After use, unplug the saw and use a brush to remove sawdust from the blade and table. Wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth and ensure the ventilation slots are clear. Avoid using solvents or water directly on the machine.
To align the blade guides, loosen the guide screws and adjust the guides so they are close to but not touching the blade. They should be positioned just behind the blade teeth. Tighten the screws once the guides are properly aligned.
If the blade is slipping, check the tension and adjust it if necessary. Inspect the wheels for debris or damage and clean them. Ensure that the blade is correctly seated on the wheels and that the tracking is properly set.
Blade replacement depends on usage and material. Generally, replace the blade when it becomes dull, shows signs of damage, or cuts inefficiently. Regular inspection will help determine when replacement is necessary.
The Scheppach HBS20 is primarily designed for woodworking. Cutting metal may require special blades and could affect the machine's longevity. Consult the manufacturer’s guidelines before attempting to cut metal.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning after each use, checking blade tension and alignment, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting electrical components for wear. Scheduled maintenance every few months is recommended.
To change the blade, turn off and unplug the saw. Release the blade tension, open the wheel covers, and carefully remove the old blade. Install the new blade, ensure it's properly seated on the wheels, and adjust the tension and tracking.
Excessive vibration could be due to an unbalanced blade, loose parts, or uneven mounting. Check that all components are securely fastened and that the blade is properly tensioned and aligned.
If the saw does not start, ensure it is plugged in and that the power outlet is functional. Check the fuse or circuit breaker, and inspect the power cord and switch for any visible damage.
