To replace the sanding belt on the Scheppach BTS 700, first unplug the machine. Open the side cover and release the tension lever to loosen the belt. Remove the old belt and fit the new one, ensuring it is correctly aligned. Re-tighten the tension lever and close the cover.
If the sander is not starting, check the power supply and ensure the power switch is functioning. Inspect the fuse and replace it if necessary. If the problem persists, consult the manual or contact customer support.
To adjust the tracking of the sanding belt, use the tracking adjustment knob located on the side of the sander while the machine is running. Turn the knob slowly to align the belt centrally on the rollers.
Regularly clean the sander to remove dust and debris. Check the sanding belt and disc for wear and replace them as needed. Lubricate moving parts according to the manual's recommendations and inspect the power cord for damage.
The Scheppach BTS 700 is primarily designed for wood sanding. Using it for metal may damage the machine or reduce its lifespan. If metal sanding is necessary, ensure you use appropriate sanding belts and discs designed for metal.
Always wear safety goggles and a dust mask. Keep hands and loose clothing away from moving parts. Ensure the workpiece is securely held and the work area is well-lit and free of clutter.
To change the sanding disc, remove the disc guard and unscrew the disc holder. Peel off the old sanding disc and attach a new one, ensuring it is centered. Reattach the disc holder and guard.
Store the BTS 700 in a dry, dust-free environment. Cover the machine to protect it from dust and debris. Disconnect it from the power supply and coil the cord neatly.
To align the sanding table, loosen the table adjustment knobs and position the table at the desired angle. Use a protractor to ensure accuracy, then tighten the knobs securely.
If the sanding belt slips off, ensure the belt tension is correctly adjusted. Check if the tracking is properly set and adjust it if necessary. Inspect the belt for wear or damage and replace if needed.
