To change the sanding belt, first ensure the sander is unplugged. Then, release the belt tension lever located on the side of the unit. Remove the old belt and position the new belt on the rollers, ensuring it is centered. Finally, re-engage the tension lever to secure the belt in place.
It's recommended to clean the sander after each use by removing dust and debris. Check the sanding belt and disc for wear and replace them as needed. Lubricate any moving parts monthly to ensure smooth operation.
First, check the power supply and ensure the sander is plugged in. Inspect the fuse or circuit breaker to ensure it hasn't tripped. If these are fine, check the power switch and internal wiring for any signs of damage.
Always wear safety goggles and a dust mask to protect against debris. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and keep hands away from the moving parts. Make sure the sander is stable and on a flat surface before operation.
To adjust the tracking, locate the tracking knob on the side of the sander. Turn the knob slightly while the sander is running until the belt is centered on the rollers. Make small adjustments to avoid over-correction.
If the sanding belt is slipping, it could be due to insufficient tension. Check the tension lever to ensure it is properly engaged. The belt might also be worn out and in need of replacement.
For wood, use coarse grit (60-80) for heavy sanding and fine grit (120-220) for finishing. For metal, use medium grit (80-120) for general use and fine grit (220-400) for polishing. Always choose the grit based on the material and desired finish.
Regularly clean the sander and replace worn components promptly. Avoid overloading the sander and always use it according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust and damage.
Inspect the mounting system of the sanding disc. Ensure that the disc is properly seated and the mounting screws are tightened. If the issue persists, check for wear on the mounting hardware.
The Scheppach BD7500 is not designed for wet sanding. Using it for wet sanding can damage the motor and electrical components. Always use the sander for dry applications only.
