To change the blade, first ensure the saw is unplugged. Open the upper and lower wheel guards, release the blade tension, and carefully remove the blade. Install the new blade by positioning it on the wheels and adjust the tension and tracking accordingly.
If the saw is not cutting straight, check the blade tension and tracking. Ensure that the blade is properly aligned and that the guide bearings are correctly adjusted. A dull blade can also cause crooked cuts, so consider replacing it if necessary.
Regularly clean the sawdust from the machine using a vacuum or brush. Lubricate moving parts as per the manufacturer's recommendations, and periodically check for wear or damage to components such as the blade, bearings, and guides.
To adjust the blade tension, use the tension knob located on the top of the saw. Rotate it clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Proper tension is achieved when the blade does not slip on the wheels during operation.
Blade slippage can be caused by improper tension, misaligned wheels, or worn tires. Check the blade tension first, then inspect the wheel alignment using the tracking adjustment knob. Replace the tires if they show signs of wear.
To align the fence, loosen the locking mechanism and adjust the fence parallel to the blade using a square. Once aligned, tighten the locking mechanism and make a test cut to ensure accuracy.
Always wear safety goggles and hearing protection. Ensure all guards are in place and functional. Keep hands away from the blade and use push sticks when necessary. Disconnect the power when changing blades or performing maintenance.
If the motor fails to start, check the power supply and ensure the saw is plugged in. Inspect the motor brushes for wear and replace them if needed. If overheating occurs, allow the motor to cool and check for blockages in ventilation.
To adjust tracking, rotate the tracking knob while the saw is running at a slow speed. Adjust until the blade is centered on the wheels. Make small adjustments and frequently check the blade position.
Blade replacement frequency depends on usage and material. Replace the blade when it becomes dull, shows signs of damage, or if cutting performance declines. Regular inspection will help determine the right time for replacement.
