To reset the oil life indicator, turn the ignition to the 'ON' position without starting the engine. Press the 'INFO' button to scroll to the 'Oil Life' display. Press and hold the 'RESET' button until the display shows '100%'.
For the 2008 Saturn Aura, it is recommended to use SAE 5W-30 engine oil. Ensure the oil meets the GM6094M standard for optimal performance.
If the check engine light is on, use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve the trouble codes from the vehicle's computer. These codes will guide you on the specific issues that need to be addressed.
To change a flat tire, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Loosen the lug nuts slightly, jack up the vehicle, remove the lug nuts completely, and then replace the tire. Tighten the lug nuts in a criss-cross pattern.
Locate the air filter housing on the driver’s side of the engine bay. Unclip the latches or remove screws securing the housing. Remove the old air filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it fits snugly. Re-secure the housing.
Overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a faulty thermostat, or a broken radiator fan. Check and refill coolant if necessary, inspect the thermostat and replace if needed, and ensure the radiator fan operates correctly.
To program a new key fob, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'ON' position. Hold the 'LOCK' and 'UNLOCK' buttons on the key fob simultaneously for approximately 15 seconds until the locks cycle, indicating successful programming.
Check the transmission fluid level with the engine warm and the car on a level surface. If low, add the recommended type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube, ensuring not to overfill. Consult the owner’s manual for the correct fluid type.
Jack up the vehicle and remove the wheel. Unbolt the caliper and slide it off the rotor. Remove the old brake pads, compress the caliper piston, and install the new pads. Reattach the caliper and wheel, then test the brakes after lowering the car.
The battery light indicates a charging system issue. Check the alternator, battery connections, and drive belt for faults. If the alternator is not charging the battery, consider having it tested and replaced if necessary.
