To start the McCulloch PowerDrive M155-107TC, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the battery is charged. Turn the ignition key to the start position and release it once the engine starts. Make sure the parking brake is engaged and the blades are disengaged during startup.
If the engine does not start, check the fuel levels and ensure there is no old or contaminated fuel. Verify that the battery is charged and connected properly. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and clean or replace it if necessary.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season. Use the recommended oil type and follow the instructions in the user manual for oil changes.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content as it can damage the engine.
Regularly inspect the cutting blades for sharpness and damage. Sharpen the blades every 20-25 hours of use or when you notice uneven cutting. Replace any blades that are bent or excessively worn. Always disconnect the spark plug before servicing the blades.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades or debris lodged in the cutting deck. Check and clean the deck, and ensure the blades are properly balanced and securely fastened. Also, inspect the belt and pulleys for wear or damage.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly to remove grass clippings and debris. Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep the mower in a sheltered, dry location to protect it from the elements.
Uneven cutting may result from dull blades, incorrect tire pressure, or an unlevel deck. Sharpen the blades, check and adjust tire pressure, and ensure the mower deck is level.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and cleaning the air filter, sharpening blades, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the cutting deck. Refer to the user manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
