To start the McCulloch PowerDrive M145-97TC Lawn Mower, ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake, set the throttle to 'start', and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then once every 50 hours or at the beginning of each mowing season.
If the blade doesn't engage, check the blade drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Also, check the blade clutch switch for proper operation.
To clean the cutting deck, turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a brush or a hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck.
For winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank, and remove the battery. Store the mower in a dry place.
Ensure the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Regularly check the tire pressure and adjust the cutting height for optimal performance.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the spark plug is clean and connected properly. Also, inspect the air filter and replace it if it's dirty.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment lever located near the wheels. Select the desired cutting height by moving the lever to the appropriate notch.
Check that the mower deck is level and the tires are inflated evenly. Ensure the blades are sharp and not damaged. Adjust the cutting height settings if necessary.
