To start the McCulloch PowerDrive M125-97TC Lawn Mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the choke position, turn the ignition key, and then move the throttle to the fast position once the engine starts.
If the mower is not cutting evenly, check if the blades are sharp and balanced. Also, ensure that the tires are inflated properly and that the deck height is adjusted evenly.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or once per mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and air filter. Ensure that the battery is charged and the safety features are engaged properly.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and cables for wear and tear.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel of the mower. Set the desired height by moving the lever to the appropriate notch. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
The engine may run rough due to a dirty air filter, bad spark plug, or stale fuel. Clean or replace the air filter, check and replace the spark plug if necessary, and ensure fresh fuel is in the tank.
Check the drive belt for signs of wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Also, inspect the pulleys and drive cable for any issues that might prevent the system from engaging.
Before storing for winter, clean the mower thoroughly, remove any debris, change the oil, drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the battery. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
