To start the McCulloch PowerDrive M125-97T, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the cutting blades are disengaged, and the throttle is set to the 'start' position. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify the battery charge. Make sure the safety switches are engaged and the air filter is clean.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near the wheels and move it to the desired position. Make sure all wheels are set to the same height.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the engine oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and cables for wear.
Remove the blades following the manual instructions, then sharpen them using a file or bench grinder. Ensure the blades are balanced before reattaching.
Check for debris stuck in the blades or under the deck, verify the blades are balanced and not damaged, and inspect the engine mounting bolts for tightness.
Ensure the tire pressure is equal on all wheels, use a slower speed setting, and raise the cutting height to prevent scalping.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug for safety. Use a stick or similar tool to remove the grass buildup, avoiding direct hand contact.
