Ensure the fuel valve is open and the spark plug is connected. Pull the starter rope firmly to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or at the start of each mowing season.
Check the spark plug, fuel level, and air filter. Ensure the fuel valve is open and the engine switch is on.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Sharpen the blade at least once in every mowing season or as needed if it appears dull or damaged.
Ensure the blade is sharp, the deck is clean, and the engine is running at full throttle. Adjust the cutting height as necessary.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance and check for loose bolts on the engine and frame.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the deck, and store the mower in a dry place. Consider removing the spark plug and adding a few drops of oil into the cylinder.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Use a stick or similar tool to clear the obstruction. Do not use hands to remove clogs.
