To start the McCulloch M56-675SMDW, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Pull the choke lever, prime the engine if required, and then pull the starter cord firmly. Release the choke as the engine warms up.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the safety lever is fully engaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use for a new mower, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in warmer temperatures, or SAE 10W-30 for a wider temperature range.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced, clean the underside of the deck regularly to prevent grass buildup, and adjust the cutting height to suit the lawn conditions.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, and store in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
Disconnect the spark plug for safety, tilt the mower to access the blade, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace the blade with a new one, ensuring it is properly aligned and tightened.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade. Check if the blade is bent or damaged and replace it if necessary. Ensure all mounting bolts are tight and secure.
The cutting height can be adjusted using the levers located on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position to raise or lower the mower deck.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and cleaning the air filter, sharpening the blade, and checking the spark plug and fuel system.
