To start the McCulloch M125-97T, first ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Sit on the seat, depress the brake pedal, engage the parking brake, and shift the gear to neutral. Insert the ignition key and turn it clockwise to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid ethanol blends greater than 10% as they can damage the engine components.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Check the blade engagement cable for proper tension and ensure it is connected correctly. Also, inspect the drive belt for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
After each use, remove any grass clippings or debris from the cutting deck using a brush or hose. Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected before cleaning.
Uneven cuts can be caused by a dull or damaged blade, incorrect tire pressure, or an uneven deck. Sharpen or replace the blade, check and adjust the tire pressure, and level the deck as needed.
Clean the mower thoroughly, perform all necessary maintenance, and store it in a dry place. Consider using a fuel stabilizer and disconnect the battery to prolong its life.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify the air filter is not clogged. Also, inspect the battery charge and connections.
Regularly check the oil level, air filter, spark plug, and belts. Inspect the blades for sharpness and balance, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened.
To replace the drive belt, first disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the mower deck. Remove the old belt from the pulleys and install the new belt, ensuring it is routed correctly. Reattach the deck and reconnect the spark plug wire.
