To start the McCulloch M125-85F lawn mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the parking brake is engaged. Then, turn the ignition key to the 'start' position until the engine fires up.
Check the spark plug for fouling, ensure the fuel is fresh, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the battery is charged and the cables are securely connected.
The blades should be sharpened every 20-25 hours of mowing, or whenever you notice a decline in cutting performance.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 oil for a wider temperature range.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug and refill with new oil according to the specifications.
Check for debris caught in the blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for damage and ensure that all nuts and bolts are tight. If the problem persists, the blades may need to be balanced or replaced.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it is a paper filter, tap it gently to remove debris. If it is a foam filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry before reinstalling.
The recommended tire pressure for the McCulloch M125-85F is typically around 15 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Always refer to the user manual for exact specifications.
To store the mower for winter, clean it thoroughly, remove or stabilize the fuel, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Cover it with a protective tarp to prevent dust accumulation.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking and changing the oil, inspecting and cleaning the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking the tire pressure, and inspecting belts and cables for wear.
