To start the McCulloch M115-97TC lawn mower, ensure that the brake is engaged. Insert and turn the ignition key to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Do not use ethanol blends higher than 10% to avoid damage to the engine.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level, and ensure the fuel is fresh. Verify that the spark plug is in good condition and properly connected. Also, make sure the battery is charged and the air filter is clean.
To clean the mower deck, use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. Make sure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected before cleaning.
Adjust the cutting height by using the height adjustment lever located on the side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired position to set the cutting height.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking the oil level, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and sharpening the blades. Also, check the tire pressure and tighten any loose bolts.
To replace the blades, ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Tilt the mower to access the blades, remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and secure it by tightening the bolt.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or loose parts. Check the blades for damage or imbalance and ensure all screws and bolts are securely tightened.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly and perform necessary maintenance. Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry place. Disconnect the battery and cover the mower to protect it from dust.
