To start the McCulloch M115-97T, ensure the mower is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to 'Choke' if starting cold, turn the ignition key to start the engine, then adjust the throttle to the desired speed.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and verify that the battery is charged. Clean the air filter if it's dirty and make sure the fuel is fresh.
It's recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or once per mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for general use. In colder temperatures, you may use SAE 10W-30. Always check the manual for specific recommendations.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Ensure the blades are sharp and not damaged. Check that the cutting deck is clean and the grass is not too wet or too tall for the mower's current setting.
Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Lift the mower securely, then use a wrench to remove the bolt holding the blade in place. Replace with a new blade and secure it tightly with the bolt.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove or stabilize the fuel, disconnect the battery, and store the mower in a dry, protected area.
Regularly sharpen the blades, change the oil, clean the air filter, and use fresh fuel. Ensure the tires are properly inflated and the mower is clean from debris.
Check for loose parts or debris lodged in the cutting deck. Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance and tighten any loose hardware.
