To start the McCulloch GB 320 Blower, make sure to fill the tank with the correct fuel mixture. Set the choke to the closed position, press the primer bulb several times until it fills with fuel, pull the starter handle until the engine starts, then set the choke to the open position.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil in a 40:1 ratio. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol.
Check the fuel level and ensure it is fresh. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Make sure the air filter is clean and the fuel lines are not clogged. Finally, check the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of operation. If you operate in dusty conditions, clean it more frequently.
While the blower can move wet leaves, it is more efficient with dry leaves. Wet leaves are heavier and may require more effort to move.
Perform regular maintenance every 25 hours of use, which includes cleaning the air filter, checking the spark plug, and inspecting the blower for loose or damaged parts.
Before storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the blower thoroughly and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
Check for any loose parts or screws. Inspect the fan for damage or debris buildup, and ensure the blower tube is securely attached.
Regular maintenance, proper storage, and using the correct fuel mixture are key to increasing the lifespan. Avoid operating the blower in extreme conditions and address any issues promptly.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, check and adjust the gap on the new plug if necessary, and install the new plug by hand before tightening with the wrench. Reattach the spark plug wire.
