To start the McCulloch CS 360T chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the choke to the closed position, and pull the starter cord. Once the engine fires, move the choke to the open position and pull the cord again until the engine starts.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality two-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1 for optimal performance.
The chain should be sharpened every time you refill the fuel tank or when you notice a decrease in cutting efficiency.
The chain should be tight enough that it doesn’t sag from the underside of the guide bar, but loose enough that you can rotate it by hand.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, sharpening the chain, checking the chain tension, and inspecting the spark plug and guide bar for wear.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and functional, verify that the choke is set correctly, and inspect the air filter for blockages.
Adjust the carburetor by turning the idle speed screw and the low and high-speed screws to ensure smooth operation. Refer to the manual for specific screw positions.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the chainsaw thoroughly, and store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
Replace the chain if it is visibly damaged, if the teeth are worn down, or if it becomes difficult to sharpen effectively.
