To reset the TPMS on a Mazda CX-5 2017, first ensure that all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press and hold the TPMS reset button until the TPMS indicator light blinks twice, then release the button. The system will reset after driving for a few minutes.
For optimal performance, Mazda recommends using SAE 0W-20 full synthetic engine oil that meets the API SN or ILSAC GF-5 standards for the 2017 CX-5.
To pair your smartphone, first ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. On the car's infotainment system, go to "Settings" > "Connectivity Settings" > "Bluetooth" and select "Add New Device". Follow the prompts on both the phone and the car’s display to complete pairing.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes an oil and filter change every 7,500 miles or 12 months, tire rotation every 7,500 miles, and brake inspection every 15,000 miles. Refer to the owner’s manual for a comprehensive schedule.
To replace the cabin air filter, open the glove box and remove the damper. Push in the sides of the glove box to drop it down. The cabin air filter cover is located behind the glove box. Open the cover, remove the old filter, and insert a new filter with the airflow direction arrow pointing downward. Reassemble the glove box.
Engine overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a faulty thermostat, a damaged radiator, or a malfunctioning water pump. Check the coolant level first and top it up if necessary. If the problem persists, have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic.
To enable or disable the lane departure warning system, use the infotainment system. Navigate to "Settings" > "Safety" > "Lane Departure Warning" and toggle the setting on or off as desired.
If the key fob battery is dead, you can still start the car by placing the key fob near the start button and pressing the start button with the brake pedal depressed. Replace the key fob battery as soon as possible by opening the fob and inserting a new CR2025 battery.
The Mazda CX-5 2017 has a sealed transmission, making it more complex to check the fluid level yourself. It is recommended to have a professional mechanic inspect the transmission fluid during regular maintenance intervals.
To update the navigation system, download the latest map updates from the Mazda website onto a USB drive. Insert the USB drive into the vehicle's USB port and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and the engine is running during the update process.
