To change the temperature settings, locate the thermostat dial inside the refrigerator compartment. Turn the dial clockwise to lower the temperature and counterclockwise to raise it. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize after adjusting.
First, ensure that the refrigerator is plugged in and the thermostat is set correctly. Check for any obstructions in the airflow vents and make sure the door seals are clean and intact. If the issue persists, consider defrosting the unit as ice build-up can impede cooling.
Defrost your refrigerator whenever you notice a quarter-inch thick layer of frost build-up in the freezer compartment. Regular maintenance can help maintain efficient cooling performance.
Unplug the refrigerator and remove all food items. Use a solution of mild detergent and warm water to clean the interior surfaces. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth before plugging the unit back in.
Ensure that the refrigerator is placed in a cool, well-ventilated area away from heat sources. Keep the door closed as much as possible and ensure the door seals are in good condition. Regularly clean the condenser coils to improve efficiency.
Check if the refrigerator is level and adjust the legs if necessary. Ensure that the refrigerator is not touching any walls or cabinets which might amplify sounds. Also, verify that items inside are not vibrating against each other.
Water pooling may be due to a blocked defrost drain. To clear it, unplug the refrigerator and locate the drain inside the refrigerator compartment. Use a pipe cleaner or warm water to clear any obstructions.
Unplug the refrigerator and remove the light shield, if applicable. Unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new one of the same type and wattage. Reattach the light shield and plug the unit back in.
Inspect the door gasket for damage or dirt. Clean the gasket with warm, soapy water and check for any obstructions. If the gasket is damaged, it may need to be replaced to ensure a proper seal.
Empty the refrigerator and secure the shelves and drawers. Tape the door shut and keep the refrigerator upright during transport to avoid damaging the compressor. Allow the refrigerator to settle for a few hours in its new location before plugging it in.
