To attach the Kubota RCF2072 Cutter, first ensure that your tractor is equipped with a compatible 3-point hitch. Align the cutter's hitch points with the tractor's hitch arms and secure them using the hitch pins. Connect the PTO shaft by sliding it onto the tractor's PTO stub and secure it with the locking pin. Ensure all connections are tight before operation.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking and tightening all bolts before each use, lubricating the PTO shaft and wheel bearings every 8 hours of operation, inspecting blades for wear or damage weekly, and replacing the gearbox oil every 50 hours of use.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the skid plates on each side of the cutter. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts securing the skid plates, shift them to the desired height position, and then retighten the bolts securely. Ensure both sides are adjusted evenly to maintain a level cut.
If the cutter vibrates excessively, first stop the machine and inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Check for debris lodged in the cutter and remove any obstructions. Ensure that all bolts and fastenings are tight. If the problem persists, the blades may need sharpening or replacing.
To sharpen the blades, first disconnect the PTO shaft and ensure the cutter is stable. Remove each blade by loosening the mounting bolts. Use a grinder to sharpen the blades, maintaining the original angle. Reinstall the blades and ensure they are balanced to prevent vibration.
The recommended oil for the gearbox is a high-quality gear oil, SAE 80W-90. Ensure the oil is changed every 50 hours of operation or as specified in the operator's manual.
To prevent rust, clean the cutter thoroughly after each use to remove grass and debris. Store the cutter in a dry place, and consider applying a thin coat of oil or a rust-preventive spray on metal surfaces during periods of inactivity.
If the blades do not engage, check the PTO shaft connection and ensure it is properly attached. Inspect the shear pin on the PTO shaft for damage and replace it if necessary. Also, verify that the tractor’s PTO is functioning correctly.
To replace a blade, first ensure the cutter is disconnected from the tractor. Secure it safely to prevent movement. Remove the blade bolt with a wrench, replace the old blade with a new one, and tighten the bolt securely. Always replace blades in pairs to maintain balance.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, such as goggles and ear protection. Keep bystanders at a safe distance. Before operation, inspect the cutter for any damage or loose parts. Never operate the cutter in reverse gear and avoid steep slopes.
