Begin by reading the operator's manual thoroughly. Ensure all components are securely attached and check fluid levels, including oil and hydraulic fluids. Adjust the cutting height and check the blade sharpness before starting.
First, check the tire pressure to ensure they are inflated evenly. Inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Verify that the deck is level and adjust if necessary.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the engine oil, cleaning or replacing air filters, inspecting belts and blades, and lubricating moving parts. Follow the maintenance schedule in the manual for best results.
Ensure the cutter is on a flat surface, and disconnect the spark plug for safety. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, then replace the blades, ensuring they are properly aligned and tightened.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure all safety switches are engaged and check for blockages in the air filter.
Locate the height adjustment levers on the cutter deck. Adjust each lever to the desired height, ensuring all sides are even to maintain a level cut.
Signs include squealing noises during operation, visible wear or cracks on the belt, and reduced cutting performance. Inspect regularly and replace if any signs of wear are present.
It is not recommended to cut wet grass as it can lead to uneven cuts and may cause clumping. Wet grass can also strain the engine and lead to slippage or damage to the cutter blades.
After use, allow the cutter to cool down. Remove grass clippings from the deck and blades using a brush or air blower. Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth and check for any debris or obstructions.
Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Check that all bolts and nuts are tightened, and examine the belts for wear or damage. Excessive vibration can indicate a need for maintenance or repair.
