To start the Kubota KBL31 blower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, set the choke lever to the closed position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and pull the starter handle gently until resistance is felt, then pull sharply. Once the engine starts, move the choke lever to the open position gradually.
The Kubota KBL31 blower requires a gasoline-oil mix. Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89 and mix it with a high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1.
If the blower does not start, check the fuel level and ensure it is fresh and properly mixed. Verify that the spark plug is clean and correctly gapped. Inspect the air filter for clogs and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the stop switch is in the "ON" position.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting the fuel filter, and ensuring the cooling fins are clean. It's also important to check all screws and fittings for tightness.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinstalling. If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Loss of power can be caused by a clogged air filter, dirty fuel filter, or a fouled spark plug. Check and clean or replace these components as needed. Ensure the fuel mix is correct and the exhaust ports are not blocked.
The spark plug should be checked and replaced annually or every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Always use the recommended spark plug type for optimal performance.
Excessive vibration may be due to loose parts, debris caught in the fan, or an imbalanced impeller. Inspect the blower for any loose bolts and tighten as necessary, clean out any debris, and check the impeller for damage or imbalance.
Before storing, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the blower thoroughly and check for any needed repairs. Store it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
Always wear hearing and eye protection when operating the blower. Do not use the blower in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas to prevent inhaling exhaust fumes. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts and ensure the work area is clear of obstacles.
