Use high-quality diesel engine oil with a classification of API CF or higher. The recommended viscosity is SAE 10W-30 or SAE 15W-40, depending on the ambient temperature.
The engine oil should be changed every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Always refer to the operator's manual for specific maintenance schedules.
To bleed air from the fuel system, loosen the air vent plug on top of the fuel filter. Pump the fuel with the priming pump until air bubbles are no longer present, then tighten the air vent plug.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure there is adequate fuel, and verify the condition of the starter motor and solenoid. Inspect for any air leaks in the fuel system.
Use a 50/50 mix of long-life antifreeze and distilled water. Ensure the antifreeze is suitable for use in diesel engines and provides protection against corrosion and freezing.
First, remove the valve cover. Rotate the engine to top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for the cylinder you are adjusting. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem, and adjust to the specified clearance.
Stop the engine immediately and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level, radiator cap, and for any obstructions in the radiator fins. Ensure that the fan belt is intact and properly tensioned.
Inspect the air filter every 100 hours of operation and replace or clean it if necessary. In dusty conditions, more frequent inspection and maintenance may be required.
Shut off the fuel valve, remove the old filter, and install a new one. Open the fuel valve and bleed the fuel system to remove air. Check for leaks after installation.
Maintain regular service intervals, ensure the air filter is clean, keep the fuel injectors in good condition, and operate the engine within the recommended load and speed range.
